GRANTS AND CONTRACTS

Slippery Rock University Faculty-Student Research Grant

Differentiation of the Upper Pennsylvanian Strathearn and Hogan Basins, East Central Nevada: A study based on detailed stratigraphy and ammonoid and conodont biostratigraphy, 2003

The objective of this grant was to assess the lithologic and paleontologic data to determine whether indeed the Strathearn Basin and the Hogan Basin are actually two distinct basins - an older and a younger basin - or if they are just higher order eustatic or tectonic disruptions within a single, long-lived basin

Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Technology Grant

tc \l1 "Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Technology GrantEnhanced Student Learning in the Environmental Geosciences, 2002

Objective of this grant is to utilize a digital imaging microscopic - computer system capture, manipulate and project microfossils and petrographic images on a screen for detailed analysis.

National Science Foundation

Web Tools for Global Time Scale Development:  An Example from the Pennsylvanian-Cisuralian, 2002-2005

Collaborative grant with Boise State University, University of Northern Iowa, Russian Academy of

Sciences, Russia.  Objective of this grant is to develop a suite of Web-based tools that will facilitate the international debate toward defining the GSSP=s for the Cisuralian.  Provide access to a wide breath of biostratigraphic, stratigraphic and geochronologic data to assist researchers in making decisions regarding the Cisuralian GSSP.

Biotic Patterns and Tectonostratigraphy of Lower Permian Stratotype Sections, Ural Mountains: Implications for Global Correlation,  1993-1995.
