Although I have divided this bibliography into reading for adults and children/young adults, it should be obvious that some items on either list could be enjoyed by anyone who can read, regardless of age. Because I took citations from other references without checking all the primary sources, you may find errors in a few of the citations below.
If you want more than is included here, the best reference is Susan Searing's 54 page The History of Women and Science, Health, and Technoloav: A Bibliographic Guide to the Professions and the Disciplines. As implied by the title, the citations are grouped by subtitles such as astronomy and chemistry. This book is available at a nominal charge from the University of Wisconsin System Women's Studies Librarian, Room 112A Memorial Library, 728 State Street, Madison, WI 53706.
