COMING SOON! LEGO CLUB!   Are you in grades 1st through 6th and love to build with LEGOS? Well,  the Grove City Community Library is the creative place to be! The library is forming a new LEGO club called "The Blockheads." Our club will meet once a month on a Saturday afternoon (to be determined by the LEGO Leader) and will build  for 2 hours. Each monthly meeting will feature a different "building theme."  Each child is the bring their own LEGO to build with. If you are interested in joining, please contact: Heather Baker at 724-458-7320.

ALSO - if you have LEGOS that you would like to donate to the library,  we would love to take them off your hands!

3RD Annual Harry Potter Sock Drive.  Back by popular demand! The Harry Potter Sock Drive" at the Grove City  Community Library.  In the past two years we have had a lot of success with our sock drive.   Last year we donated 264 pairs of socks and underwear. WAY TO GO!  We in the children's dept. of the Grove City Library are asking that  children & their families donate NEW socks to be given to the Clothing Closet at the Grove City Methodist Church. Along with socks we are also accepting boys and girls NEW underwear. All sizes are appreciated,  from babies to teens.  There will be a black cauldron located near the front check-out desk of the library , please help keep some tiny feet warm this winter. Thank you!

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT:  All family members are invited to join us at the Grove City Library on Friday, November 27th at 5:30 p.m. as we kick-off the Christmas season by watching the movie/musical "A Muppet Christmas Carol" starring Kermit the Frog and the Jim Henson Muppets. Based on the book by Charles Dickens. Children under the age of 5 must have a parent sit with them.  This is a FREE event with popcorn & cookies. Please bring your own drinks. Children may wear their pajamas and bring a pillow to lounge on.  To register call 458-7320. Merry Christmas One and All!

AMERICAN GIRL MOVIE / CRAFT DAY: Young ladies in grades Kindergarten -5th grades are invited to the Grove City Library on Saturday, November 28th for a special American Girl Holiday movie & craft day featuring the movie "Samantha: an American Girl Holiday.   The fun will begin @ 1:00 p.m. and conclude at approx. 3:30 p.m. Along with the movie, we will be making Victorian Christmas ornaments and will have Christmas cookies & Cocoa for a snack.  Bring you dolls and share the magic of the season with us at the library. "Bookswap-a-Palooza" Party:  Tuesday, December 1, 2009, 6:00-7:30 pm. After hours "Bookswap-a-Palooza Party, for 4th-6th graders.  Are you wondering what to do with paperback books that you have already read? Want to read something new and interesting and not spend a dime?   Bring your gently used paperback books to the library and swap them out for new ones. The more books you bring to the party, the more “new “ books you take home with you for FREE! Refreshments will be provided!   Where: Grove City Community Library.  When: Tuesday, December 1st. CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS NIGHT:  Tra-la-la! Wedgie Power is back by popular demand! Kids in grades 1st - 5th grades are invited to a night of cottony fun at the Grove City Library. This event is based on the popular books by Dav Pilky. On Friday, December 4th @ 6:00 p.m. we will be participating in the Underwear Launch , the Toilet of Doom, decorating our own "briefs" and changing our names using the Name Change-o-Rama chart. All participants are to bring their own pair of clean white undies so that we can decorate them with fabric markers and wear a cape. Registration is required before December 3rd.
