I supervised nternships under the course number 32-450 during the summer
from 1987 through 2004. During
that time I had a total of 119 interns.
Students keept a daily journal, wrote an academic paper, and were
evaluated by their employer on the basis of job performance.
A minimum of three forty-hour weeks of work was required for a three-hour
internship, six weeks of work for a six-hour internship, and so forth.
Many interns chose to register for three hours of credit and,
especially if they were being paid, continued to work beyond the minimum
number of weeks required.
