Age-Sex Structure of Sewickley Hills

"Structure" refers to the distribution of population by age and sex categories. It is often illustrated using a graph termed an age-sex pyramid. The horizontal axis shows percentage of the total population, while the vertical axis is divided into five-year age cohorts.

Sewickley Heights is a newer suburban community located north of the City of Pittsburgh. Its structure in 1990 shows a preponderance of people in their middle age and their young children. There are relatively fewer older people, and relatively few people in their teenage years and 20s.

Compare the population structure of Sewickley Hills with that for Churchill (Tract 5190).
