Age-Sex Structure of Pittsburgh's Census Tract 302

"Structure" refers to the distribution of population by age and sex categories. It is often illustrated using a graph termed an age-sex pyramid.

Tract 302 is located immediately east of Pittsburgh's central business district (CBD). The presence of large numbers of women in the 15-19 and 20-24 cohorts stands out dramatically on the graph. There are practically no children.

Compare the population structure of Tract 302 with that for Tract 707.
