Age-Sex Structure of Pittsburgh's Census Tract 707

"Structure" refers to the distribution of population by age and sex categories. It is often illustrated using a graph termed an age-sex pyramid. The structure of the United States' population does resemble a pyramid, but that for many urban neighborhoods may be quite different.

Tract 707 is located in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. The presence of so many college-age people stands out clearly on the graph. Several institutions of higher education are located nearby.
