You will present your topic to the class at the end of term, during the last week of class or when we meet during Finals Week.
Requirements:
- There are three things to accomplish here while you present:
- Present your point;
- Give clear illustrations to demonstrate your point;
- Grab your audience as you present and demonstrate your point.
- The presentation is to be at most 10 minutes, and at the least 7:00.
- You may show film clips, but they may be no more than 2:00 long in all.
- You may use Powerpoint, but you may NOT use it to present a text outline of your talk. You may use it for images or charts or other exhibits.
- There will be questions for you from the class following your talk.
Grading:
The presentation is worth 10 points of your final grade. You will receive a sheet to grade your classmates on each of the three points given above "to accomplish." I will collect these as evidence for your grade.
Here are the questions which will be on student comment sheets:
- Did the presenter give a clear articulation of a point? This does not ask whether the person has a topic, but whether he or she clarifies what we should learn about the topic which is useful to us.
- Did the presenter give examples to illustrate the point clearly?
- Were you captured by the presentation?
- Further pertinent comments?
